Camp at Forbes State Park in Kimmundy, IL and Enjoy the Beautiful Scenery by Julia Baker

 If you're looking for a place to get away from reality, we have a perfect place for you to visit, Forbes State Park. The office hours are 9am-5pm, so you can call and reserve a spot to camp at. It is also very affordable to reserve a spot at Forbes.

At Forbes, the campsites are conveniently spaced out perfectly and they have a lot of room. There are 115 private, shaded campsites. The campsites are $20 per night and $140 per week. The individual campsites have a fire pit, parking space for vehicles, and a power outlet to plug in your camper or anything else. There are campsites available for campers, RVs, tents, and more.

There is a huge 585 acre lake that is provided for fishing. There are many different fish stocked in the lake. For example, largemouth bass, bluegill, redear, crappie, catfish, and more.

There are also hiking and horse trails for citizens. A 15 mile horse trail is provided and the hiking trails range from half of a mile to five miles. In total there are 4 hiking trails. The trails have beautiful scenery including different colored leaves and different kinds of trees. It’s a great opportunity to take pictures.

What could be a more fun way to spend the day than swimming all day at the beach in Forbes State Park? Forbes has a beach for the public. The beach is 200 feet long and very clean. At the beach, there are picnic tables for the citizens to store their stuff while they swim. When they get hungry, they can also eat at the picnic table. The beach is very pleasant and the water is mostly calm.

Boating ramps are located at multiple places around the lake. There is no horsepower limit on the lake. Overnight docking is available for everyone and it is an affordable price. The water is very tranquil and peaceful.
