The William Jennings Bryan Park Is Full Of Fun Activities For All Ages. By Jacie Reynolds

 


When you need a place to go, where the whole family will have fun, the William Jennings Bryan Park in Salem, Illinois the perfect place to go. The park is a very popular place for people of all ages because of the amount of activities they can choose from. The park is eco friendly and animals are welcome!

At the William Jennings Bryan Memorial Park, there are many variations of play equipment for children. One main attraction is the swings. The swings are organized by age levels and heights. The baby swings and handicap swings are located near each other for easy access. The taller swings for the older kids are grouped together as well. The next piece of equipment is the slides. These slides are fun and enjoyable for all ages. There are smaller slides for the younger children. There are also larger, more complex for the older, more adventurous children. The last piece of equipment is the monkey bars and jungle gym. The monkey bars and jungle gym are very different. There are monkey bars that move while you work your way across to make it more challenging. The jungle gym is a very tall platform for children to climb on and do tricks.

The next thing at the William Jennings Bryan Memorial Park is all the extra activities they have installed. The first activity is the skate park. The skate park has many different ramps and poles for all ages to use. The basketball courts are for many ages just not recommended for younger children. The courts have all the markings and goals necessary for a game. Another thing is the tennis courts. The tennis court is inside a fence with bleachers. There are 4-5 courts for various people to play a match or to just have fun. The next thing is a whole disk golf course. There are many different disk golf catchers around the park where families, or friends can play. The last thing is a great convenience for the park. There is a dog park for your fluffy little friends to play to. The park includes a caged in area with fire hydrants and bags for your clean up if necessary. You are welcome to bring toys as well.

Since this park is named after William Jennings Bryan, it would only make sense to have a memorial for him, right? William Jennings Bryan was the 41st Secretary of State. He was also a politician and American orator. He taught the evolution of the Scopes Trials. The memorial includes a statue of William Jennings Bryan, flowers, benches, and some quotes from him as well. Another really interesting thing the park includes is parties. You can rent a pavilion for as long as you need, usually for birthdays. The pavilions are all different shapes and sizes, which they should give you the information on the sizes when you call to make a reservation. You can pick which pavilion you want to rent. You are allowed to bring whatever you want or need for the parties. No one else will be allowed to take your spot over once you have rented it. The rentals aren’t too expensive and it’s affordable. The William Jennings Bryan Memorial Park is located by the Salem Family Aquatic Center. The Salem Family Aquatic Center includes concessions, a toddler pool, a younger kids pool with a dumping bucket and small kiddie slide, sharks and logs race game, diving boards, and a big slide. You have to be taller than 48” to go on it. Other ways to find it is by knowing where the Salem Community High School is located. Another place nearby is the Roller Rink. Knowing where all of these places are located makes it easy and convenient to find the park. The address with directions is located here
