Take a Break and Take a Bite at Chico’s by Cheyanne Austin
Those of us who love Mexican foods and themes often can’t get enough of it, and with a certain locally owned establishment in Salem, IL, we may be able to curb those cravings. Sometimes Taco Bell can’t fill our need for Mexican food. Chico’s is the next best, local and easy to afford Mexican themed restaurant besides our beloved Taco Bell, and it might be even better.

Some of Chico’s best foods aren’t the cheapest, but they are definitely delicious! Some of their best foods are the quesadillas, such as the chicken or cheese variants. Not only do they sell tacos and burritos, they also serve various dishes such as cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, baked potatoes and more! Their special taco sauce is also something to take note of; it seems to add just that much more flavor to the taco or burrito.

Chico’s also has a fair assortment of drinks, such as the popular Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper, and root beer. They also have sweetened and unsweetened tea. All beverages are served with “Chico’s” ice, which is apparently very popular among the locals despite the fact it resembles everyday cubed ice.

One of Chico’s most unique aspects is their new drive thru. Just like most fast food restaurants, the drive thru is near the back. They have a more personal approach to their drive thru, sinces person will usually be waiting to take your order inside the drive thru. Seating is also one of Chico’s most promising qualities, besides the food of course. They have a mix of inside and outside dining, which is usually decorated with seasonal props. They also have seasonal gift cards they give out around Christmas and other holidays.
