Come Cool Down and Have Fun at Salem Family Aquatic Center by Elena Vanhoutin

   The Salem Family Aquatic Center has a large slide with a height of 3 stories. You would have to be 36 inches tall to ride on the slide. However, the ride isn’t very long. It is at least 30 seconds, however, that’s enough time to have fun! It’s my favorite ride to go down. Others find it fun as well. From the slide you can see the park, high school, softball field, tennis court, and a lot of other sites.

         If you’re staying with us for a while, come eat at the concession stand! Food here at the aquatic center is amazing . I love the Dipping Dots. Other people may enjoy it too, the price is $3.50. I enjoy the candy bars with popcorn which both together cost at least $2.50. The sandwiches are delicious, warm, and juicy. These sandwiches cost at least $3.00. But it’s worth it for some amazing food!

         The cost to get in is $5.00 or you can get a family pass. A family pass will allow you to get in anytime it’s open during summer. I recommend bringing 7 or 8 dollars to get food. If you get the family pass you can get a locker. Unfortunately, The family pass wasn’t sold this year due to COVID. It’s fun to go almost everyday and swim, hangout, or slide down the slide.

         The diving boards have two different heights. The tall one is a story high and the low one is a couple feet off the ground. The impact from the tall one is large, and the small one doesn’t make a very big impact. The water is 12 feet deep. It’s fun to jump off either, whether for a large or small splash. I definitely recommend these for a lot of fun! Backflip, front flip, or just dive off them.

          The baby pool has a small place for babies to play. The children pool has a playground for the kids. The water isn’t very deep, but it connects to the large pool. The kids pool is shallow enough so no kids get hurt or drown. It’s the best way for the kids to cool down in a safe way!
